Bettors looking to back a player as Team USA’s leading scorer during these Paris Olympics might look no further than Kevin Durant.
Currently, he’s averaging 16 points per game and is the favorite in this spot at +170.
In the Americans’ first official contest of the Games — a 110-84 win over Serbia — Durant had 21 first-half points and 23 total to help lift his squad to victory.
As a result, his odds to be the USA’s top scorer for the tournament surged to +130 from +700.
While his odds have lengthened slightly since then, he’s still at the top of the betting board.
Can anyone catch him?
Let’s dive into the updated odds via DraftKings Sportsbook.

One player whose odds are tumbling is Steph Curry. At the beginning of the Games, he had some of the shortest odds to be Team USA’s leading scorer at +350. Now that line has lengthened all the way to +2200.
Paris marks the NBA veteran’s first Olympics, and so far, he’s only averaging 26% from beyond the arc.
Another player whose odds have tumbled is Joel Embiid. He opened at +400 to be one of the squad’s leading scorers. Now, he’s completely off the board.

On a recent episode of “First Things First,” co-host Chris Broussard said that there are no more excuses for the 76ers’ big man.
“As far as Embiid — he looks bad. He does look bad,” Broussard explained. “But I think this is the beginning of what will be the most scrutinized stretch of his NBA career.
“Embiid has gotten a pass, and I think that’s over.”
