Immediately following Super Bowl LVIII’s overtime thriller, the San Francisco 49ers and Kansas City Chiefs opened atop the betting board as the favorites to win it all. They remain the top two favorites more than a month after the big game.
However, NFL free agency began this week, causing a gigantic splash that made notable waves in the Super Bowl futures market.
Here’s a glance at how this week’s signings impacted the odds:
•The Philadelphia Eagles agreed to terms with pro-bowl running back Saquon Barkley for a three-year deal worth up to $37.75 million. This news moved the Eagles Superbowl odds to +1600 from +2000.
•Aaron Donald announced his retirement Friday morning after 10 seasons with the Los Angeles Rams. That news moved the Rams’ Super Bowl futures to +3200 from +3000. Over the course of his career, the defensive tackle was named the Defensive Player of the Year three times and selected for 10 Pro Bowls.
•The Pittsburgh Steelers agreed to terms with QB Russell Wilson on a one-year, $1.2 million deal, which shortened their odds from +8000 to +6600. By Friday morning, those odds lengthened out to +7500.
•Raheem Morris made his first big move as a rookie head coach by securing four-time Pro Bowl quarterback Kirk Cousins as Atlanta’s new signal caller. This shifted the Falcons Superbowl odds to +3000 from +5000.
•WR Keenan Allen was traded to Chicago from the Chargers, and overnight, the Bears odds moved to +4000 from +5000.
• Running back Josh Jacobs agreed to sign with the Green Bay Packers on Monday, but the Packers’ title odds did not shift.
Why Russell Wilson will perform better with Mike Tomlin and Steelers culture
So much more could happen between now and the start of the regular season in September.
But for now, let’s take a look at the complete list of Super Bowl odds (via FanDuel).

The game will be played at the Caesers Superdome in New Orleans, Louisiana, on Feb. 9, 2025, and will be broadcast on FOX and the FOX Sports app.
Here’s a quick look into the favorites:
San Francisco 49ers +500
The 49ers have been perennial contenders since 2019, reaching the NFC Championship Game in four of the last five seasons.
Brock Purdy helped the Niners get back there this year, leading San Francisco on a deep playoff run again in only his second season in the league. They came up a bit short in Super Bowl LVIII, but the 49ers aren’t expected to lose any key members of their core this offseason, making it a strong possibility they make another deep playoff run next season.
Kansas City Chiefs +650
As long as Patrick Mahomes is on your team, you’ll have a chance at winning the Super Bowl.
The Chiefs have made it to the AFC Championship in all six seasons that Mahomes has been their starting quarterback. They made it back there this season as they appeared to be at their weakest in the Mahomes era. And none of that mattered as they will be coming off back-to-back titles and their third in five years.
The team have made moves in the offseason to solidify their core, most notably resigning star defensive tackle Chris Jones to a five-year, $158.75 million deal.

Baltimore Ravens +900
Lamer Jackson has had a nearly similar effect on the Ravens that Mahomes has had on the Chiefs.
In the four seasons Jackson has finished the year as the Raven’s starting quarterback, Baltimore has made the playoffs each time. Jackson won his second MVP in 2023, helping the Ravens hold the AFC’s best record for the second time in his tenure as the team’s starting quarterback.
