Bill Belichick to the Atlanta Falcons after Patriots exit?
On Thursday, NFL Media reported the former Pats coach will have a second interview with the Falcons this weekend. Atlanta had previously interviewed the former Patriots coach on Monday.
The Falcons’ odds to land Belichick quickly shifted to the news as Atlanta is now the clear-cut favorite to land the legendary coach at -400. The number was +250 before Thursday’s news.
“Not the head coach of an NFL team during Week 1” lengthened from +600 to +900.
The second Falcons interview report and the Cowboys keeping its head coach, Mike McCarthy, definitely impacted those numbers.
FOX Sports NFL Studio Analyst Rob Gronkowski, who was a star tight end for the Patriots under Belichick, said to look out for the Falcons over the weekend.
“He’s coming back with a vengeance,” Gronkoski said. “And I’ve been hearing on the streets the Atlanta Falcons are coming in hot for Coach Belichick.”
“Any other NFL team” currently sits at +500 and is second on the betting board.
Is there another team to watch for the wager?
Former Patriots wide receiver and current FOX Sports NFL analyst Julian Edelman stopped by “The Herd” on Wednesday and had a thought.

How about the Philadelphia Eagles?
“One, they got some players,” Edelman said. “The players they need are on defense. That’s Bill’s forte. Two, location. It’s an East Coast team. He’s got family in New England, he’s got a life in New England. He’s got grandkids there. That’s a short trip. It’s hard to see him going to L.A., for instance. And three, the respect he has for Howie Roseman.”
